Florida TS18

Post by JakeJekel37 »

Hey everyone. New guy here from Florida. I'm getting ready to start a new TS18 build. This will be my first build. My father grew up sailing from a very young age until just after college. He's always wanted to build something but never got around to it. I've finally talked him into taking the plunge and we decided on a TS18.

There's not a whole lot of people here in the US that have built, restored or sailed Hartleys (though there are some, they are very spread out). While there probably won't be much help here for recommendations on locally sourcing some things I might need, I'm looking forward to picking your brains on any issues we may have going through the process.

For right now, I'm just introducing myself to you guys, and I'm looking forward to the build. I'll be sure to keep a build thread/blog updated throughout the build.

Welcome aboard. One of the beauties of this boat is that it is designed to be build using standard materials from your local hardware and timber supplier. The sailing tackle is also pretty generic kit.
Looking forward to watching your progress.
