Introduction - Hartley 24

Post by Drew_Aurora »

G'day everyone,

I've been trying to join this forum for a while but had problems with the activation email going missing. Anyway - here I now am.

I bought an old 1962 TS21 that was completely stuffed a few months ago with the idea to use it as a base for a complete build. As I was acquiring parts and saving fun tickets - another complete and seaworthy boat came up that was a much better prospect and for less money that I could have done up the TS21 for.

I am now the proud owner of a Hartley 24. She was built in around 1990 and seems to have been named "Jabiru" then "Taipan". Her Victorian rego is TL05. I have named her "Aurora".

I'd love to hear from previous owners or anyone who knows of this boat. I bought her in Phillip Island from a fella who had only had her for just over 12 months and fell on bad times and wanted rid of her.

I've been sailing dinghies since I was a teenager and have recently got back into sailing with my kids in our little Heron dinghy. I'm looking forward to learning more about sailing larger boats.

Nice to meet you,

Drew.

Welcome aboard Drew.
Good luck in finding info. Hopefully someone here knows a bit about your new boat. Also, you might want to touch base with the Victorian TS18/21 club. You can find their website at: https://hartleyyachtclub.org/

Cheers.
